This is the term for the fair treatment and wages of coffee farmers and workers. This could improve the lives of marginalized coffee planters around the world.
Organic Agriculture Certification by Control Union
Organic farming is a way of producing food that respects natural life cycles. It minimizes the human impact on the environment and operates as naturally as possible without using Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs). Organic farming is part of an extensive supply chain that also includes food processing, distribution and retailing.
CONTROL UNION
Control Union, a Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) Group of companies, is a member of the TIC Council (tic-council.org), the world association of testing, inspection and certification companies.
UTZ Certified
UTZ Certified, is a program and a label for sustainable farming. UTZ is the second largest sustainability program in the world for coffee, after 4C (The Common Code for the Coffee Community). 870,102 metric tonnes of coffee was UTZ certified in 2016.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is responsible for protecting the public health by assuring the safety, efficacy, and security of human and veterinary drugs, biological products, medical devices, our nation's food supply, cosmetics, and products that emit radiation.
With growing and processing coffee, C.A.F.E. Practices includes sustainable agricultural practices and environmental measures that must be in place for managing waste, protecting water quality, conserving water and energy, preserving biodiversity and reducing agrochemical use.
